Our Mission

 

Our mission is to empower and teach middle and high school students from underserved communities. We are influencing college preparedness, providing career training and life skills through building their self-worth, accountability, competence, and purpose.

 

Our Why

 

Studies prove that students in low-income communities are lagging behind in graduation rates amongst their peers and approximately 46% are attending college immediately after graduation. Every year, 1.3 million students drop out of high school in the United States. More than half are students of color, and most are low-income. Low-income students fail to graduate at five times the rate of middle-income families and six times that of higher-income youth.

Through our after-school program, summer leadership series, conferences, and other activities, we provide Empowered Youth Inc. participants with resources needed to thrive academically, professionally, and socially.

To see girls and boys confidently and boldly pursue their dreams and postsecondary education, that they might become the next generation of leaders in their respective careers.
